About the Founder
Cindy Sites is a fitness professional with more than twenty years experience and has dedicated her career to developing The Figure Method®— the safest, most effective form of barre exercise.
Growing up, Cindy studied classical ballet extensively and contemplated becoming a professional dancer. After the birth of her children, she was looking for an exercise that she could enjoy. She instantly felt at home at the barre. As an early student of the Lotte Berk Method, Cindy threw her energy into barre and quickly became an instructor.
As an instructor of the Lotte Berk Method, Cindy refined her approach to barre by incorporating safer, orthopedic exercises and form modifications. She choreographed her class to music that “moved her” and formally introduced The Figure Method® more than twelve years ago. Since that time, The Figure Method has received rave reviews from barre aficionados and industry experts alike.
As the founder of Go Figure studios, Cindy had overseen the expansion of Figure Method instruction from its first location in Greenwich, Connecticut to ten studios around the country. She personally oversaw the certification and ongoing training of all instructors and still teaches daily.
Cindy has taught Figure Method barre to thousands of students and instructors. For over twenty years she served as trustee at American Ballet Theatre, was on the Board of School of American Ballet and had the honor of being appointed to The President’s Committee of the Arts and Humanities by President George Bush. Cindy has two amazing children, a fabulous son-in-law, and a terrific husband of 28 years. Developing The Figure Method and overseeing Go Figure Barre Studios has been one of the most positive, and rewarding experiences of her life.
